Background on Broadway

Background on Broadway is a series of Informative and entertaining talks by theatre professionals focusing on production history, musical highlights, and insider anecdotes, offered prior to the first Saturday matinee performance of each show in the JPMorgan Chase Broadway Series. All Background on Broadway presentations are free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Speaker: Joe Deer, Wright State University Musical Theatre Department
The head of the Wright State University Musical Theatre Department, Joe Deer, will discuss the production, focusing on how Chicago encapsulates the history of Vaudeville, differences between the original production and the revival, and how Bob Fosse’s iconic choreography remains ingrained in the show.
